Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Leo - An Aquarian’s Tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

The Shadow of an Eclipse - 2017

Quick recap: July was a lot. I could barely make sense of it myself. Now that we have passed through the Lion’s Gate portal, things feel less foggy and we are coming up to some of my favorite cosmic mirrors—eclipses and the Lunar Nodes.

The Lunar Nodes are not celestial bodies; they are points where the Moon’s orbit around the Earth and the Earth’s orbit around the Sun intersect. The South Node reflects lessons we have learned and chapters that need to be closed. It isn’t so much that these qualities are bad, but rather that they are so well understood that we don’t need to focus on them as much. Over-prioritizing these qualities will knock us out of balance and keep us stuck.

The North node reflects the next chapter. The path forward and often the edge of a flat earth in regard to our comfort zone.

Of course, this isn’t forever—the Lunar Nodes flip every nine years and what was meant to be in the past will now be for our future. Hopefully, we will be just a little wiser as we reopen the book of Leo.

On July 26th, the nodal axis shifted, with the North Node in Aquarius and the South Node in Leo. We had a delicious first taste on February 17th with a powerful New Moon and Solar Eclipse that kicked off the Year of the Fire Horse. Now, with our first complete eclipse pairing in the Aquarius/Leo with a Solar Eclipse/New Moon in Leo on August 12th and a Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon in Aquarius on August 28th—we are diving into the first course.

I’m not the type of astrologer who can tell you what will happen during this shift. But I can tell you this is a doozy of a nodal axis because Pluto, the planet of transformation, is also in Aquarius. And from what I have noticed (you may see it too), we are extra attached to hierarchical power structures—in society, with our love of heroes, saviors, and celebrities, and personally, with our own individual egos trying to determine the “good parts” and “bad parts” of ourselves.

I can also tell you that when Aquarius’s ruler, Uranus, the planet of new horizons, enters Gemini for a 12 year stay, how we connect is being revolutionized. And it is bigger than AI. AI is only one branch sprouting from a whole new rhizome.

While I won’t—or can’t—tell you what this “means,” aka what will happen, for you or for us as a collective, I can tell you where the story begins, how many acts, and who the characters are.

So—the story begins. Act I, Scene 1: let’s talk about kings.

Let’s talk about the good ones! The ones with big lion hearts—the ones we pray for, the ones we think we are, or would be if given the chance. Even they fall.

Welcome to the Aquarius/Leo nodal axis. Let’s look at an old story with a new lens.

The “Great American” Solar Eclipse in Leo - 2017

Many may be familiar with Lady Guinevere’s love triangle. How she married Arthur, winning his complete devotion, and was central to his purpose, power, and kingdom. And how she loved Lancelot, playing it chaste and innocent at first, but eventually they trashed the ideal and dove headfirst into the real deal—and they got caught.

She was even with Mordgred, that incestuous bastard son and traitor, whether that was by choice or not. Her judgment was harsh, and the consequences were fatal for the entire land.

Yes, Guinevere loved men. And they worshipped her. Well, until they found out she was fucking all of them.

“There is no way this love can be true,” they said. “If she loves HIM too.”

“He is not a king.”

“He is not good.”

“He is not powerful or ambitious.”

Did you know she even loved the common man, the regular old fool, covered in mud, without skill or status or direction, just bumbling through life? Yeah, she was with him too.

They buried that one—that was more shame than the Knights of the Round Table could bear. Merlin, who she also got with, regularly, buried this information under a thick, dark cloud of hate and contempt. Hate for her, but mostly for the common man, each other, and themselves. They abandoned the round table, destroying their unity and their strength.

They also isolated her, banishing her to a prison of unattainable goodness so that no one else could have her love. No man, or no woman. To accept her love was to be tainted with the foul stench of, well—all of humanity.

Horse in the Mountains - 2017

It continued this way for centuries. Until one day, the most basic common man was in one of his darkest moments, and he had nothing to lose. He was already a beta-cuck loser. He had money, but he was killing himself for it, and it still couldn’t pay his bills. He had a job, but it left him without purpose or meaning. He had a family, but he didn’t know them, and they didn’t know him. So he let her sit with him.

Guinevere smiled, and he smiled back. He now felt amused by his dirty face, smelly body, and clumsy hands. He was a fool, and it was part of his charm.

“Let’s play a game,” she said, and tied a blindfold over his eyes. He was open; it would be an adventure.

Over time, he became steadier, stronger, and more skilled. He learned to shower, to speak, and even to make sense sometimes. He was now honorable and respected. He was a Knight. He could feel her standing beside him, completely devoted, yet she was also still madly in love with the Fool. So he decided he would love him too.

And this made him a King. They walked side by side until one day, they came face to face with the incestuous bastard son and traitor. Whether she wanted to or not, Guinevere opened her heart, her body, her whole being, and she embraced him. And the King did too.

Guinevere stepped back. She was now drenched in white light and filled with ecstasy. She reached into her heart and pulled something out. It was sticky dark mud, and she threw it in his face.

The man dropped to his knees with tears of joy and laughter.
